I always thought it would have been a lot fairer if there was just one episode of “The X-Files”, when everything turned out to have a perfectly logical, natural explanation after all. There was one, I think. They do a really good job of suggesting that there’s a government / alien / evolutionary conspiracy behind certain deaths, but it turns out that they all died of unrelated normal causes that were easily deduced by Scully moments after they were found.
