Well, the answer would appear to be no, and this conference would appear to be a huge waste of time. None of the people on the panel had a clue about what would happen in the election, and unless they want to make a statement outside of the echo chamber, don’t bother.

I enjoy Wonkette, but it’s really insulting to have her represented here. She may be ever so smart, but she doesn’t write that way. A friend of mine knows the guy who writes a Wonkette like ass-fucking column here in Portland, and I am told that it’s all schtick. The guy has a wife, kids, and a mortgage, and is not in any way kinky. Sort of the inverse of a depraved minister of the gospel. I’m not really asking for more sincere kinkiness, but just a less inane political discourse. Seemingly the old media is trying to mould the blog world into an image of itself. If Wonkette goes all smutty on you, BTW, your proper retort is to ask her is she’s a natural redhead, all the way down. But she won’t.
