I must’ve taken an alternate route on the evolutionary path since I still hate beer for the most part. Regardless, I did enjoy watching this Guiness ad. [link to .mov file] You can read a bit about the video creation process here.
UPDATE: Oops, sorry, this is a CT dupe! I knew I had seen “Noitulove” somewhere recently.:) When I saw Kieran’s post I was on a machine that couldn’t deal with a .mov file so I never clicked through and by now it’s off the front page. (As has been noted we’ve been quite busy around here recently. And as has not been noted – because I have been too busy to note – I’m too overwhelmed with deadlines right now to spend much time on CT these days. I shouldn’t have broken my vow to stay away for a few more days. Oh well, at least I made CT history.:)
In case anyone else missed it the first time around, I recommend clicking through now.:-)

It’s ok, I don’t read Crooked Timber either.
Anyone know what is the soundtrack?
Thanks much
Or perhaps you’re actually ahead of the evolutionary curve.
Hey, our first dupe! We’re turning into Slashdot.
Thanks, those are kind comments, they made me smile (after I got over the embarrassment).
Regarding the video, I really like the creature at the end, I think it would make for a cute stuffed animal. (Unlike most people, I’ve been known to care more for animals without fur than with it. Just another evolutionary glitch on my part perhaps.)
well, too much beer ads do make you see double.
It took a second post to make me click through. Cute. The creature at the end is a mudskipper, according to PZ Meyers.
Google says the song is from the musical “Sweet Charity”.
Thanks, Tib. That sounds right judging from these pictures. It looks like at least one mudskipper already exists in the toyworld: Muddy Mudskipper. Or you can get the audio version here. The doll doesn’t look that cute though.
The song is ‘Rhythm of Life’ from the movie of Sweet Charity. Fabulously sung and danced by Sammy Davis Junior. By the way, the dance routine choreographed by the director of the movie Bob Fosse is as brillant as the ad.
