The line above quoted as "If you could make your own money and then give it to your buddies" is actually "If you could make your own money and then give it to everybody."

And "It Overtakes Me" has more than enough sonic assault to cover the rest of the album. It's definitely the stoner-top-down-stereo-cranking driving song of the summer.

So, has anyone tried this thing out? John, I think you're duty-bound now to give it a try and report back.

Shaving? Everywhere? Why would anyone want to get rid of a secondary sexual characteristic?
What next? Mastectomies for all?

John Quiggin might be sceptical of this idea too.

OK, I'll bite: I'm a gay man who happens to find body hair pretty damn hot, and the whole "manscaping" thing drives me up the wall. It may just be the only thing I've ever agreed wholeheartedly with Andrew Sullivan about.

Nice how the Norelco ad links body hair to body odor, effectively making it a question not of personal tastes or aesthetics, but of hygiene: Sure, you can just leave it alone the "natural" way, as long as you don't mind stinking!

Oh, and before I forget: "depila-Tories" is brilliant. A gold star for John.

There. I've done what I could.

I find the lack of discussion of full-body shaving to be dismaying. Depila-Tories and only five comments? I wuz robbed!

the new lips album is just not doing it for me. and "free radicals" is simply embarassing.

but back to the topic of full-body shaving.

i'm finding the rest of the album hard to get into. it sounds a little sterile to me. i miss that full-frontal noise assault they used to have .

Hasn't the political significance of meat been plumbed to some depth by Garth Ennis in "Preacher" and ".303"?
