I like how the swingology students clap on 1 and 3, then turn it around to 2 and 4 (at the cut around 0:54).

Reminds me of a World Saxophone Quartet show I attended in Regensburg, if in reverse. Julius got the crowd clapping at about 80 beats per minute, then played against them as if they were clapping 2 and 4; slowly, more and more, claps (and foot stomps) could be heard on 1 and 3; until, finally, all fell on 1 and 3. The backbeat had been vanquished. (If only the tune had been “I Got Rhythm”…)
