It sure is funny to hear the right talking about teabagging, but it’s also interesting in a way – I was just listening to an episode of The Joan Kenley Show (progressive Bay Area podcast) called The Media: What’s True, What’s Not that addressed how the right-wing corporate media will use catch phrases (like “socialism”) and single-line branding to manipulate the information we hear. After getting in touch with all the ways that’s worked for them, it’s kinda nice to see this entry about a way it clearly is working against them!

I wish they’d start making margins bigger. I had a hell of a time solving Fermat’s last conjecture and all because of small margins.

God love Newt….he didn’t say jack when Bush was tripling the size of the government and spending hundreds of billions invading a country that did nothing to us based on lies. Now he wants government to control spending because ‘his’ party isn’t in power. The only taxes they give a rip about lowering are for those making over 250G’s a year. The Republicans were against Obama lowering taxes for the middle-class. But they’ve roped so many poor fools into believing lowering taxes on millionaires somehow benefits them. It would be sad if it wasn’t so damaging to those of us who know better.

As Warren Buffet is famous for saying “There is a class war going on and my side is winning”.

Patriotism, the first tactic of Gingriches. The acts of Gingrich and 90’s GOP resulted in the lending crisis, and bailout—though helped along by Billy Bob Clinton (who agreed to most de-reg legislation) . Bushco obviously followed in the Gingrich tradition—evidenced by the slashes of estate taxes, capital gains taxes.

That said, ObamaCo has not shown much interest in kicking tax rates on the ostentatiously wealthy back up to preBush levels, or in anti-trust like policies (Billy Bob C did at least attempt anti-trust on Microsoft). Increase the cap-gains rate on Silicon valley billionaires, and that bailout could be paid off in no time (perhaps unlikely given Google/Yahoo/Apple’s/etc. support of the Obama campaign. Schmidt/Page/Brin have been granted virtual immunity—their Ferraris are safe)
