Please stop buying Monopoly. It just encourages them. Monopoly is a terrible game. It takes ages for the winner to win, despite it being obvious (and entirely random) who is going to win. For the love of God, buy people decent boardgames like the thoroughly addictive Dominion.

Dr Who Monopoly might be a term attached to the circumstance that a mythology that has taken on a life of its own is contractually bound to a single supplier. Rather as if every crucifix, manger set, cross necklace, performance of The Messiah, etc had to be licensed by the Vatican.

Since I’m in the States, I’m somehow not subscribed to the appropriate cable channel to keep up. So I take my Dr. Who in large doses when I can. But, isn’t it Matt Smith who is the most recent incarnation?

There’s a great bit in The Remembrance of the Daleks, set immediately after the Doctor and Susan have left, in which Ace sees news of the assassination and an announcement of a “new science fiction..” and then it gets broken off by the action.

Wasn’t the first episode of Dr Who due to go out on the 22nd, but postponed till the next day? I was six at the time, and remember the first episode of Dr Who but not the JFK assassination. Feel this should be significant in some way…
