Sorry for the OT comment but there was a death in our family the day before yesterday and we desperately need assistance. Details are here, if you wish to help or at least pass the word. Thank you all in advance.

The bridge was designed by Atkins, BTW.

Jurassic Pork, my sympathies at least.

Another one that looks HDR to me? Is it just a big shadow boost? Do you have an enormous sensor? Asking for a friend.

Minnow: just a Nikon D90, so APSC-size sensor. Almost certainly boosted the shadows in Lightroom, since otherwise the underside of the bridge would be very dark and little detail would show.

Looks to be midday so I would expect the camera to struggle with the dynamic range. I am impressed. Thought it would be one of the new big bazookas. Maybe its true what they say about Nikons.

It’s a great photo, as usual. My visceral response is Omigod it’s a Dragon!

Although in general I approve of the idea of curved bridges, and I live in a hilly area where I can routinely change lanes without touching the steering wheel, in my wizened, miserly heart I question the necessity of such municipal extravagance.
