These aren’t mixed metaphors — if anything, they’re amusingly unmixed. I do wonder whether the humor is intentional, though.

I liked this one:

I reread Orwell’s essay and liked as much as I did 10 years ago, but there was no mention of a fascist octopus. Where does that phrase come from?
