1,000,000 visits

According to our log-analysis program, Crooked Timber received its 1,000,000th unique visit today; a nice milestone. I think it’s fair to say that none of us anticipated how well CT would do when we started it in July. Thank you all for reading us.

And thanks for having us. I’m continually amazed by the blogosphere — that so many gifted people want not only to write for my diversion but also to listen to and respond to my own reactions to their writing.

And indeed — no sooner do I post this last comment than I find, in the course of my browsing, a perfect epigram for the comments section of CT: from Allen Ruch’s review of Mulholland Drive, “(Just think, we cranks used to be confined to writing letters to newspapers!)”
