I Can't Be In Two Different Places At Once, You Know...

Posted by Tom

Distributive-Justice.com offers various quizzes which aim to tell you what your political position is and how it maps onto the work of various recent political philosophers. Have a go, you know you want to.

I turned out to be both a Communist and a follower of Ronald Dworkin. I’m somewhat puzzled but, I have to admit, rather pleased by this result.

(Found via the ever-readable MaxSpeak.)

Evidently Distributive-Justice.com was not a domain name for which there was fierce competition during the tech boom. I wonder why that was?

Update: Blush. Micah has already posted on this, I now see. Oh, the perils of group blogging. Assume I’ve just written myself an appropriately harsh memo about the importance of checking for duplication before sharing my, er, thoughts with the world.

Oh dear, not as consistently as we should, it seems. Mea culpa.

In my defence, my role as a covert GOP operative does require me to grab as much publicity as I feasibly can for the idea that liberal egalitarianism is, in effect, communism.

I was closest to Rawls, at 25%. Only 50% commie, which was disappointing; I thought I’d top 60%.

Too bad their flash-heavy site is BROKEN. It gets all the way through the distribution of the six goods, then the button to show you your results does absolutely nothing. If I ever find out the magic browser combination (tried the absolute latest IE6 and Mozilla Firebird) maybe I’ll give a flying fart about their site.

Personally, I find the whole premise of “distributive justice”, as characterized by this site, completely wrongheaded. I elaborate here.
