I get it. I wish I hadn’t. groan

Shouldn’t that be “Seen in Seattle”?

Posted by John Quiggin · June 2, 2004 12:15 PM

Erm, I don’t get it…

This is the canonical one question geek test. If you don’t get it, please update your canon.

“Erm, I don’t get it . . .”

The VW’s license plate announces that it’s a “FEATURE”—not a bug . . .

Posted by rea · June 2, 2004 02:26 PM

In case anyone doubts it, that’s a real classic VW with a real license plate. I’ve seen it myself a couple times.

rea: ok, thanks :)

I hadn’t really understood that the word “feature” was what actually appeared on the license plate… I feel dumb.

Posted by pepi · June 2, 2004 05:30 PM

I think that should have been “Feature”- , but then I’m such a geek I pay attention to grammer…

Like pepi, I didn’t understand that “FEATURE” was the license plate. It’d make more sense it it were:

VW Beetle license plate in California: “FEATURE”

That sounds like S-Plus or SPSS logic, not R!

Hee. I laughed out loud and the rocket scientist snickered. Since he has a bad cold, that’s pretty good. I keep saying I’m not a geek I just hang out with them, but it’s starting to look really iffy.

My canon is way too up to date to discuss among non-geeks =). However, I also didn’t get what was on the license plate.

Arrgh. Eloquence seems to be inversely proportional to level of physics education. I meant, “I did not get that that was what was on the license plate”.

Posted by agm · June 4, 2004 10:04 AM

Oh, glad I wasn’t the only one. I feel vindicated now :)

I also am much more used to calling it a Beetle, not a ‘Bug’. Beetle, that’s its proper name. So there. Hmph.
