Welcome back, Bill G.

Posted by Ted

I’m working on a treatment, and I could use the input of the Fametrackers.

One week before her wedding, Suzanne, the hottest 22-year-old pediatrician in Manhattan, meets a stripper at her bachelorette party. He’s sensitive, impulsive, and very handsome. Sensing the chemistry between them, he steals her wallet and finds her contact information. At first, she’s cold to him. She ignores the dozens of letters he sends and his constant presence under her window. Her resistance starts to crack after he shows up at her workplace to sing the song they heard on the night they met (“Milkshake”. Luckily, the parents of the child under treatment are very understanding.).

They take a crazy trip to his small hometown in rural Oklahoma. In a tear-jerking montage, his lovable, mentally retarded brother teaches her the true meaning of life. She learns that walking to the creek, or licking an ice cream cone, can be just as rewarding as any “hot restaurant” or “lecture series”.

She returns to Manhattan with the intention of doing the sensible thing and going through with her marriage. But as she’s getting into her wedding dress, she overhears her (less handsome) fiancee talking about taking his career seriously.

When the chapel opens its doors, she’s not there. She’s taken the first taxi to Oklahoma, as one does, and the movie ends as she runs up on the porch in her wedding dress.

I’m leaning towards the title “Home Love Heart”, but any suggestions are welcome.
