wonderful! something interesting is going on with the pattern of the lines and the large number of randomly oriented pigeons. I don’t know what this pattern is/does precisely (photography theorists will surely be able to analyse/explain this), but it creates a strong visual effect for me.

Yeah, nice one. Seems like you could sell this one to someone looking for a cover image for a textbook about stochastic processes. (I mean that in the nicest way.)

It is nice Chris Bertram! The pigeons are all gathering on or close to the lines I think, thats what’s making the interplay of patterns — the straight lines of the paving with the pigeons sort of following it but not exactly or geometrically.
