Wonderfully peaceful, despite that he tree is dead (or half-dead?). Are these leaves from the tree itself but then only on half of the tree, or some parasite plant on top of a tree without any leaves?
@Alan White — interesting you should say that. I grew up in a town on Lake Erie and still go out there once or twice a year. I also lived in Milwaukee for four years. My first thought when I saw that picture, the headline notwithstanding, was: this is a Great Lakes shot.

This looks like it could have been taken from the shore of Lake Michigan here in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Which is one reason I love living here.
