I think it unlikely that Kasich will get elected and reunite Pink Floyd, to play “Money”. But it would be a scene rich in irony.

Moreover that’s probably one of the few things he’d agree on with Gilmour.

LOL. My love extends only as far as the Dark Side of the Moon. Eternal, that. But if Kasich could get us into the alt universe where Barrett is alive and still in the band, he might get my vote. I just discovered Syd’s solo albums…

“Wish You Were Here” is a MUCH better album! – discuss … :)

“Money” is on _Dark Side_.
Also, people always talk about loving Barrett, but how many people actually listen to the early, early albums on which Barrett played? Maybe the answer is: everyone on here, but that’s not been my experience, i.e. I haven’t known a ton of people who regularly listened to the early Barrett albums. (Prob should mention that I haven’t loved PF since high school, tho I’d probably agree with novakant—minus the “much”.)

More likely that Kasich gets elected than Pink Floyd reuniting, which is more likely than Pink Floyd reuniting and playing for Kasich’s inauguration even though the only imaginable reason Pink Floyd would reunite is to play for Kasich.

The story goes that back in the early ’90s, the Stone Roses were asked if they’d ever reunite, and Ian Brown said something like, “Sure, when Man City win the top flight again.” I wouldn’t even joke about this shit.

Many, many, many people listen to Syd-period PF. See, e.g,. WFMU. My preference is for “Meddle” vis-a-vis DSOTM. No fan of football, but closing a tune with Manchester United fans chanting “You’ll Never Walk Alone” was a stroke of musical genius.

DCR — Fair enough, I guess it’s just not the kind of music that’s played a big role in my life. I do like Meddle tho, if I were ever to listen to a Pink Floyd album now, it would probably be that.
