The building looks to be of some age and the Spotted Cow’s name in masonry suggests it’s been around for a while as well. This light is dramatic and makes for a nice contrast with the graphic on building end. It would be nice to cut down the blocking street sign. Photoshop I suppose but I could fix the problem with a reciprocating saw much faster.

A beautiful picture…but is it a beautiful place?

(A lot of art, it seems to me, has tended to beautify places that everyone concerned would rather not be.)

But it’s still a beauthiful picture.

First impression for me that it looked like a grain storage here in the midwest!
Love the light. But what is quiz night? Give me a pale ale and I’m game!

It is a bit of a shed inside, so I tend to frequent other places. Lots of pubs have quiz nights: you form a team and compete for prizes by answering questions like “Who was US President at the outbreak of the Korean War” and “Who did Anita Dobson play in EastEnders?”

If anyone ever gets up Harry’s way in Wisconsin – there is an awesome small brewery (New Glarus) that makes an excellent, excellent farmhouse ale called Spotted Cow that would be the ideal quaff at this exact place, especially on a quiz night (since the ABV is just high enough to let the wisdom flow but not so high as to make everyone think they are genius).

@Trader Joe: ha! Yes, drank some of that at Harry’s house recently, but I didn’t even think of the connection.

There’s also an instance of a working man blinkered and silenced by — street signage? An arresting image not leading to a conviction.
