I don’t see why everyone is so hard on IDW. I mean, yeah sure.
“The different accidents of life are not so changeable as the feelings of human nature. I had worked hard for nearly two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into an inanimate body. For this I had deprived myself of rest and health. I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart. Unable to endure the aspect of the being I had created …”
Duh. Who doubts that’s going to be IDW all over in 2019?
Still, it looks great. I guess some people just hate art.

”I guess some people just hate art”
or could it be – that it’s just too difficult currently to differentiate between ”art” and bulls… ? –
(or ”art” and ”comedy”)
As we for sure have to give the ”art-label” to BERNIE WRIGHTSON’S FRANKENSTEIN but about some very, VERY confused dudes – who call themselves IDW’s??! –
There was this commenter who wrote to Henry:
”C’mon. And if they called themselves “Martyrs for Justice and Freedom?†They’re not a “Dark Web†of anything. You can read them in the Effing New York Times, for the luv of gawd… And so here we have a bunch of people with multiple, broad platforms to say whatever they want… saying they’re a “Dark Web,†implying they’re semi-pirates…
And you’re taking them at their word and letting them get away with it”?
WE -(the real ”artists” won’t!) – as IT really has become a major problem -(and especially in America) – that people say… ”completely random things” – or even do ”totally random THINGS” -(caps inspired by VON CLOWNSTICK) – and then our ”Sekundärlitertatur-artists” show up up and give the ”silly things” some… some kind of ”meaning”?
Like what Von Clownstick thought – when the Editorial Board of the NYT wrote:
”Trump Got From NATO Everything Obama Ever Asked For”.
Then Trump probably thought:
”Wow!
– following by the random words:
”I Got From NATO Everything Obama Ever Asked For”?
-following by the random thoughts:
”Why haven’t I thought about that from the beginning?!

Well, I had to look up IDW to find out what this was all about. Now having learned of the recent half-serious invention of the term, I know to take it half-seriously, and the associated website, on examination, rather less so.

– and I guess in order to clarify – and reading some Slate article about so called ”IDW’s” –
Am I some kind of ”IDW” too?
-(or am I just ”a person” with some ”random thoughts”?)
And where is this funny hobby coming from – giving all kind of ”persons” -(or group of people) – or ”individuals” some new and… catchy nicknames?
Does it come from our love of ”Brangelina” or ”Amalooney” – or is it all the Washington Post’s ”Mensa Invitational” fault – with my favorite winner of this year:
2. Ignoranus: A person who’s both stupid and an asshole.
– which for sure beat Nr.1
1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.
but perhaps NOT:
5. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating.
OR:
8. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn’t get it.
In conclusion – what’s about defining IDW’s just as: I don’t Wanters?

I understood this joke.

@Matthew Heath:
Right.
Also, too, that IDW Publishing was founded in 2013, and JH’s “I guess some people just hate art.”? Pretty much dead giveaways.

– and as Henry doesn’t like my IDW’s -(”I don’t wants”) – let me try to answer to McLaren here.
Firstly ”McLaren” is a great example about how well – ”well-made globalization” works – by creating truly awesome machines by well payed workers with no bullshit jobs.
– and that said – Trump never-ever will be able to ”inadvertently” -(or advertently) succeed in shutting down ”globalization” –
(if ”globalization” is defined as ”The worldwide movement toward economic, financial, trade, and communications integration” and the opening of local and nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of an interconnected and interdependent world) –
BE-cause it’s pretty much irreversible – and so we just have to make sure that those tens of millions of high-paying jobs that got shipped overseas come back again.
By US also (again) starting to produce some well-made everything (again) and by NOT doing it the ”Von Clownstick Way” by coming up with the worst possible solution to any problem and then by contradicting ourselves patenting that we solved the problem we created!
Capisce – McLaren?
Vroom – Vroom!!
And about ”what actually sounds great for the average person” – and real ”Bad for the people with PhDs and bullshit jobs who post on Crooked Timber”…(to quote McLaren)
IS!
(drummy-role!)
NOTHING – the all CAPS Baron von Clownstick randomly could come up with.
NADA!
Capisce – McLaren?
Vroom Vroom!

– and about my fellow comedian ph on the other ”I-don’t-want”-threat and his idea of ”McLaren was too nice” –
YES!
He was faaar too nice to the German Baron Von Clownstick – as the moron was on his way to kill Americas YUUUGEST Car exporter – BMW –
somehow a ”German Company” who somehow is teaching US – that ”making stuff” STILL can be a ”winning” experience – even for the workers of the company.
And how true – how true – such workers are much better payed in ”the Heimatland” of BMW –
BUT still – the company proves that “multinational business investment in the US†doesn’t have to ”mostly boil down to wealthy Chinese buying up luxury homes and apartment buildings in major coastal cities in America” – and as ph wrote – at the same time: ”Good times! Check out my 401” –
And isn’t that the reason for all of this… confusion?!
”Predatory-pricing service industries that pay American workers far-below-minimum wage temp part-time “gig†jobs – and the entire midwest of America has collapsed into a deindustrialized fentayl-addicted wasteland – BUT somehow so many of my fellow Americans -(and McLaren) come up with the idea that it is ALL ”trade’s” fault – or the fault of ”Globalization” –
AND THEN – ading insult to injury – they come up with the worst possible solution to all these problems with the erection of a true ”IDW” – the ”I-don’t-want Baby” -(in diapers)?!
Change the diapers ph!
Change the diapers!!
