Strange question: Were/are those Stothert & Pitt ones, floated down the Avon from Bath?
One of those bits of urban history (or possibly urban fairy tales) that barging the cranes out through Bristol was the transport method. And then S&P failed when cranes got too big to be got out that way.

Yes, each of them has a metal plate reading “Stothert & Pitt Ltd. Engineers. Bath 1951 England. Load not to exceed 3 tons.”
