What a magnificent image that is! The composition is great (and, to boot, a near perfect one third / two third split between the sky and the rest *). I love how the clouds have taken on the appearance of apparitions. Also – I don’t know if this was luck or deliberate – but night photos in cities can often be a bit too multi-coloured. However the way this image is dominated by red and steel blue gives it a real dramatic feel – along with the apparitions of course! Bravo all round.
For the record – imho – the rule of thirds is great when it works, as it does so well here, but one should never be browbeaten into missing a good shot for fear of breaking it.
