Your view

Andrew Sullivan is trying to get to know his readers by asking them to send him pictures of the view from their windows. Not surprisingly, photo-sharing site Flickr has a group devoted to this topic linking to a whole separate Web site on window views. Kevin Drum responds with a view from his window. I’m afraid on this one, I win. If you post on Flickr, tag your photo with viewfrommywindow or add it to the group and post a link here. Alternatively, post a photo on “view from where I read CT”.

Okay, I’ve uploaded three pictures from my window at work (flickr name: merwyck).

Enjoy!

I’d love to post, but the view from my window is…a brick wall!

Thanks, Richard, quite different from many other people’s views.

Steven – a brick wall can make for an interesting abstract photo.:)

The view from my window at work (Hudson Street, NYC) ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous. The sublime = the spire of the Empire State Building. The ridiculous = a couple of skells living in refrigerator boxes on the sidewalk.

Which stop do you live at, Eszter?

I get off at Davis semi-frequently, mainly to go to Prarie Moon.

I don’t post on Flickr, but if we’re going to pick our best view-from-home photos no matter how rare the situation then this is my best (low editing) and this my other best (lots of photoshop work).

Steven – this one.

ArC – I like the trees, the rain not so much. What kind of editing did you do on the second one?

I ran two Curves adjustments on it in Photoshop, one to vastly turn up the contrast (and bottom out almost up to the original midtones) and the other to punch up the blue colours a bit. I went back to the original just now and it’s an okay photo, but not nearly as dramatic.

Okay: Here goes, even if I am cheating a little and posting a photo from 2005.
