I’m currently listening to Bob Dylan and The Band, Rainy Day Women #12 & 35, 30 January 1974, Madison Square Garden on “Vault Radio”:http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/Static.aspx?Type=Audio/Radio.htm&CategoryID=RA&LeftNav=Audio/RadioNav.htm . The stream is from the archive of live shows recorded by Bill Graham at the Fillmore and other venues … now on to Jefferson Airplane, “White Rabbit”, Fillmore Auditorium, Feb 1967 … Elvis Costello, “Radio Radio”, Winterland 1978 … this is too good!
Via “Flop Eared Mule”:http://flopearedmule.blogspot.com/ . Thanks Amanda!

Isn’t it amazing? Discovered it last weekend.

Wow! I was at that Band/Dylan show in ’74! And it gets better: I had to sneak into Madison Square Garden because I had been pick-pocketed on my way to the concert. The thief never showed up….

For some reason, I can’t get this to work. The window for the player opens, but the song doesn’t play. The HELP page explains that when this trouble arises, it’s almost always a firewall issue. Well, in this case I’m pretty sure it isn’t. Can anyone else think why this might not work? I’ve tried it with both Firefox and Safari…same result.

Cut & paste this address into an mp3 player (iTunes, etc.):

After listening for awhile, you’ll notice the station’s playlist is a bit limited yet. The Vault folks say they’ll be adding to it.
It’s a pleasant surprise to realize much of the music was as good as memory claims…

The word is they’ll be allowing downloading of the tracks in the future too.

I wonder what they got buried down there. I would love me some live Mad River.

What have they got without Hot Tuna?

Urk. Yeah, they’ve got Tuna memorabilia, but they’re actually playing Pink Floyd, sounding, if this can be imagined, even worse than I remember.
Damned quick download, though. Painless.
Oh, goody. Now it’s Creedence. There is nothing more futile than hoping to forget something.

Man. Did anyone see Prince at the Brits last night? Kick ass.
(Sorry. I guess this is a little off topic.)
