First Sean Carroll gets to go on Colbert; and now Jonathan Dancy does a very creditable job on Craig Ferguson’s show. I just want to make it clear to TV producers that I am available for gigs. Now, unlike Jonathan I am not the father of a well-known actor, so I lack a connection to the world of “show business”. But, even so, comedy is kind of a hobby of mine. Well, actually, it’s a little more than just a hobby. Reader’s Digest is considering publishing two of my jokes.

As long as you’re going on dressed up like the late Bruno Kirby, that will be fine.

also, you have a much better head a hair, at least according to the youtube clip I saw at some law blog the other day.
But as for Dancy, I was lead to believe by Claire Danes (SP? His daughter-in-law, I guess) that he’d likely wear leather pants and a beret. The more-or-less standard professor uniform was a bit of a let-down. (The foot-wear does seem a bit odd for the pants, but wearing the wrong foot-wear is itself part of the normal professor uniform, or at least a common version of it, I think.)

But just the set-ups.

And who’d have thought that the man who performed under the name ‘Bing Hitler’ a couple of decades back would be interviewing a philosophy professor on CBS?
(Ferguson’s doing interesting stuff with the space and venue he’s given. Fair play to him.)

The Dancy spot probably has something to do with this even better known actress’s appearance on Ferguson’s show.
