I assumed the “buy one get cheapest free” was a misphrased “buy one, get one of equal or lesser value free”, not “buy one, get the cheapest item in the store free”.
These pictures should go on the cover of Impoverishment of Nations.
But of course that book will never be written on paper. The folks who imagine themselves to be Adam Smith’s heirs are writing that legacy in the societies they are busy deleveraging. If they had the wit to conceptualize what they are about, they would never have done what they have done.
