Always love the effect of different-coloured “white” lights in night photography.
(the impact of changing light technology on perceptions of night scenes is fascinating: nobody these days installs low-pressure sodium, so their yellow glow will be gone in our lifetime.)
Such Deja Vu when I see this. I know I’ve been there, or could have been.
There are only about a dozen corners that could be in Bordeaux but if you hadn’t said so it could just as easily have been Paris or Lyon….indeed it even reminds me of several other European cities….with all the bikes one of my first thoughts was Amsterdam.

Ingenious capture of the lovely polish of the cobblestones.

A tad melancholic. And, as always, very nice.

Looks like the sort of socialist hell-hole that my overlords in the US are always warning me about.
God I wish I could be there.

I like how the light steers the viewer toward the group at center. Oh, and happy birthday!

Lovely textures. The grain in the darker areas actually enhances the atmosphere. Something I must remember.

As a near-contemporary, what oldster said!
