Illocutionary Vegas Act

If Britney Spears were gay, I suppose this would be an excellent example of the kind of thing that’s ruining the institution of marriage.

Kieran, you’re missing the point. This is what happens when gay people want to get married, and some straight people support them. Just imagine what will happen if they are actually allowed to get married! Man the barricades!

If Britney Spears were gay

Mmm, Britney Spears in lesbian clinch… actually that’s not a very pleasant image for some reason, possibly because Madonna’s likely to be involved somewhere…

Perhaps this whole unfortunate affair was a result of Judicial Activism and the spector of Gay Marriage being approved sometime in the future. Did you consider that? (Maybe Ms. Spears’ marriage was preemptively threatened.)

I think I did it again
I made you believe we’re more than just friends
Oh baby
It might seem like a crush
But it doesn’t mean that I’m serious
‘Cause to lose all my senses
That is just so typically me
Oh baby, baby…

Well, she got married. Now she can start having sex. ;)

No, no — the prohibition on gay marriage is to balance out the nefarious effects of easy marriage and divorce among straight people.
