Bets that he gets a medal as he’s sent on his way?

Diplomatically Rumsfeld was one of the worst aspects of the current administration, deliberately straining relations with Germany and France for temporary support at home, or when the looters in Baghdad are carting away the entire contents of hospitals, ministry buildings and museums, responding that “stuff happens”. Such an attitude when speaking to the press is always going to make you one of the first to fall when the administration is starting to be called to account for its failures.

…And in two months time, “Gin Rummy?”

This is an odd flipflop for the day after the administration; it seems the GOP could have stemmed some of their losses had he resigned before the election; which, while I’m happy he’s leaving, forces me to wonder if he’s just getting out before questions can be asked?

I think “Rümmydammerung” is Ace.

I was rather hoping he’d get embroiled in a rent-boy or handsome-young-male-intern scandal, so the papers could lead with Rum, Sodomy and the Backlash. But now that he’s going I guess that’s not to be.

It would be if his name was Roomsfeld.

you go to press with the public figures you have, not the public figures you want…

Rid of K-Fed and D-Rum on the same day. What are the odds?
