The theme is cute, but I think it would have been funnier if it had aggressively misrepresented Kant (really, who could be easier to attack with quotes out of context?) rather than blandly repeating vague versions of his doctrines in a hostile tone.
That’s not an attack ad. This is an attack ad. I like the warping affect above, but where are the grainy photoshots showing Kant in compromising positions with Goethe and Hegel?
I’d also like to scare everybody in saying that 70% of the other party’s front bench are continental analytic philosophers. French ones, too.
“hullo Mrs Jones, we represent Party Associates, a polling firm employed by the Committee of Re-elect Immanuel Kant. We’d like to ask you the following question; If you received information that Friedrich Nietszche was a syphilitic anti-Semitic madman, would that make you more or less likely to vote for Immanuel Kant”
If the Gestapo knocked at your door and asked if your mother was home, would you tell them that she was? Of course you wouldn’t, but Immanuel Kant believes you should tell them that she is–even though you know they want to torture her.
Why does Kant not disavow the campaign contributions and statements of support of the Kantian nihilists? One of them was even seen to perform at a Kant campaign event!
I think there can be basically amoral people who justify their own behavior in the name of a very severe morality. The foreign fighter in Iraq who blows up 50 of his fellow Muslims because he is told to would be an example of a “religious nihilist” in this sense.

This ad is sensational. Also phenomenal.

It is funny. But is that a disinterested funny? Or a subjective funny? That’s a judgment for the philosophers to make.

Hey, that’s an unfinished version of the ad. Could you change the link to this one:

That’s the final cut, with the embarrassing spelling error corrected! Thanks!

America will categorically reject Kant. But Nietzsche is the last man they’d elect.

I am so sick of these negative ads.
No wonder nobody votes any more.

Word is the guys in Königsberg have plenty of oppo on Nietzsche, but they’re waiting for the right moment to use it.

It’s not an attack ad without attacking Kantian nihilism.

From a PBS program there is this anti-Jefferson attack ad.

Immanuel Kant, bad for mothers, bad for America.

This mudslinging is just getting out of control.
How about an ad with some kittens, or maybe some cute babies.
