And she is Wisconsin:

The Hustisford School Board approved giving preliminary layoff notices to all 34 members of its teachers union, including the wife of state Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, superintendent Jeremy Biehl confirmed Thursday.
The board took the action in advance of Gov. Scott Walker’s release of the state budget and the statutory deadline for issuing such notices “to give themselves complete flexibility,” Biehl said. Hustisford administrators had recommended issuing the notices to five staff members.
“It’s not something I take lightly,” said Fitzgerald, whose wife, Lisa, is the district’s only guidance counselor. “It will have an effect on our life.”
Fitzgerald said his wife initially believed she was one of only three staff members to receive a preliminary layoff notice, after the board’s Wednesday action. “I thought maybe she was being targeted by them,” he said.
Even after learning that everyone had received notices and that she was not targeted, Fitzgerald said “it seems odd.”

He should talk to the Governor who is planning to send such notices to thousands of people, most of whom also have relatives.

Well you know that last “conversion example” person might have revealed the point of it all: leftists aren’t scary people, just standing up for their rights. As in the right to live a decent life, for a living wage, with healthcare and something more than seasonal contracts, in the wealthiest country the world has ever known.

Yeah, well, a lot of my friends in financial services got laid off. Most of them aren’t begging to have their property taxes raised to support higher pay and benefits for people with guaranteed lifetime employment.

Teh government never creates jobs, it only destroys jobs. Tee-hee! Especially if it’s run by Republicans.

Right, it’s all about the effect on your life. Let’s not even stop to consider an entire school district without even one guidance counselor, and the effect that might have on their lives.

I think the Swiss and Norwegians have those things…

The media coverage is getting better? Or has it now just gotten to the point we involuntarily slow down to look a the huge accident on the highway.

Get back to me when teachers are complicit in the level of fraud and general economic destruction that was perpetrated by the financial sector.

I thought people who worked in the financial sector embraced the thrill of the market.

Less frivolously, of course lots of people in the financial sector were screwed by the behaviour of their bosses. If they want to be angry with public sector workers about that that’s their prerogative. As I have emphasized, everyone involved in this accepts that there should be cuts in benefits, and many if not most are entirely reconciled to the cuts Walker is proposing. The protests are simply not about that, and Walker has made abundantly clear that his bill is not about that either.

Not only is y81 wrong about the teachers/property tax idea, he forgot to mention his (and ours, even though we had nothing to do with it) taxes are going to increase in the future due to the recent colossal budget deficits. Caused mainly by those financial sector geniuses he lionizes. Thanks for f*ing us all, y81!
