My Rousseau book

by Chris Bertram on September 3, 2003

Speaking of Rousseau, I hope that my fellow-Timberites will forgive a little self-publicity. I now have copies of my new book Rousseau and The Social Contract in my hands, and a very nice feeling it is too. If you’d like to buy a copy (for only £9.99) you can click on the image below (which takes you to Amazon’s UK website). The publication date is tomorrow for the UK, but not until November for the US (I’ll post a link to the main Amazon site when it becomes available there).

Who buys the hardback copy? Is it just library’s and millionaires (and perhaps close family members?). Same release date yet 350% of the price. Are the covers made of gold?

Well done though.

Apologise for the idiosyncratic (i.e. incorrect) use of the genitive form above.

Nice one son.

Elina – Libraries should be enough. If Chris’s book becomes a standard (or even frequently recommended) text, English speaking universities should mop up the hardback print run, no trouble.

Bloody well done – especially getting it out in yer lifetime, given how publishers pissfart out.

If I order a copy off Amazon and hold it up to the screen, will you sign it?

Congratulations, Chris. And I can account for at least one sale.

Dear Dr Bertram,

Will you sign my copy if I came knocking at 9 Woodland Road?

Sorry, will definitely NOT buy it — but congrats on getting it published.

When will it be available in e-form for fisking, quoting, etc.?

I can indeed confirm that personal callers who come equipped with a gold-bound edition are entitled to have my signature encrusted with diamonds on the cover (+ free glass of champagne). There will, I think, be an e-book edition.
