Ouch

I see that Christopher Walken nearly walked out of the remake of The Stepford Wives because he was unhappy with changes in the script.

When the star of The Country Bears, Kangaroo Jack, Gigli, Jungle Juice, Joe Dirt, The Prophecy 1,2, and 3, Blast From the Past, and Mouse Hunt nearly leaves your movie because of the script, that’s got to hurt your feelings a little bit.

Psshaw. Walken’s the man. He’ll just do anything for the money. I can’t blame him. You should check out The Deer Hunter.

How odd that the star of “The Dead Zone” didn’t forsee this either.

I think he just does those movies so that he has the freedom to do more high-brow work. Like the upcoming “Rundown”, with fellow thespians Sean William Scott and The Rock. Oww, Walken pile-on!

I’m with Linden. You can’t pick on a man because he’s hard-working. In the good films, he’s really good.
And there’s a difference between a film being merely stupid and offensive to one’s belief system, or lacking its own integrity.

“When the star of . . . Gigli”

JLo or Ben? I blinked and missed it in the theaters.

Actually, I like it when Walken wanders into a otherwise bad film… mostly because he’s usually directly responsible for the ‘otherwise’. Wasn’t he the guy of which it was said, “He could go into a schoolroom, sing ‘Happy Birthday’ in a perfectly normal voice – and give every kid there screaming nightmares for a week?”

Ever since his performance in the Fatboy Slim video for “Weapon of Choice”, Walken can do no wrong in my eyes.

I’m still waiting for Walken to make a cameo appearance on The West Wing in which he shakes the President’s hand and swoons. Forever afterwards, Toby watches the President just a bit closer out of the corner of his eyes.

I can’t decide if this scenario is more or less likely now that Aaron Sorkin has left the show.

Well it certainly is good in this day and age to find someone who doesn’t stoop to deliberately fudging the record in order to sound clever, or score a cheap point.

And that was also a really neat list of movies that Walken has “starred in”.

Hey, the parts* of Mouse Hunt I saw were pretty funny. Can’t say I remember Walken though–the stars were Nathan Lane and lee Evans. Good for giving your kids nightmares, though.

*A long story.

He was “Caeser, the Exterminator” who got wrapped up in duct tape and dropped into the frozen lake in “Mouse Hunt.” Superb acting, actually. If you like the Three Stooges, it’s a movie you shouldn’t miss.
