Welcome bloviations

by Ted on July 19, 2004

We’re delighted to announce that Ross, the man behind the excellent blog The Bloviator, will be joining us on Crooked Timber as a guest poster. I’ve long been a fan and an admirer. At the Bloviator, Ross concentrates non-exclusively on public health policy and law. For a while, he was surely the only blogger with a recommendation in his masthead from both me and Bill Quick of Daily Pundit.

After taking a few months off of blogging, he’s tanned, tenured and ready to debate. It’s a great pleasure to have him join us this week.

This is good.

Does a corduroy blazer with elbow patches come with the job?

Well, thanks for making me click through to Bill Quick of Dailypundit. That was something I don’t need to do again. Apparently even us lefty nutburgers are beginning to realize that Kerry can’t win. Because, um, yeah, no idea. But he just can’t win. And even us nutburgers, as represented by some dude writing in to the Houston Chronicle, or some such, have realized it.

This was the main sticking point in negotiations with Cafe Press about opening the CT shop. I really can’t see why they can’t offer courdroy jackets along with the t-shirts and mugs and whatnot.

Completely OT:

This made me laugh – Chirac and Sharon trying to “out-umbrage” each other; it should be a well-turned sneer to the death. Link to BBC Story – Sharon ‘not welcome’ in France

This is an outrageous caricature of the modern academic. I was so annoyed to read it I nearly bit the stem off my pipe!

Thank you very much for the kind words, Ted. Fortunately, in the last 48 hours or so, the bar for guest writers at high profile blogs has come down a few notches.
