Sounds about right… what’s the problem?

I started reading Deutscher’s Prophet Armed just yesterday after much hesitation, and this video makes me feel somehow validated. The implied suggestion that we are heading for a mess of 1930s-scale is… unnerving. I guess I’m missing some irony ref. the Fox allusion, though…

(unrelated, what with the Euskera caption at the bottom?)

Its a piece of Fox Movietone Newsreel.

I thought it was someone modern mimicking him at first. Or a Monty Python sketch.

Yes.

Not that I can translate them: the only Basque I know is “gose handiko beldarra”.

My knowledge of Trotskyiana regrettably isn’t all it should be. I didn’t know he gave speeches and interviews here in Copenhagen. Could you please indicate some context? Like, when, what, who, why?

It is “Workers of the World, Unite!”, according to http://www.statemaster.com/encyclopedia/Workers-of-the-world,-unite!

“Are those Basque subtitles?”

I think it’s someone’s attempt to render Russian into roman characters.
