Do we have independent verification? ‘Cause when he posts on Whedonesque it’s obviously him, but this…could be a bit of a scam. Or not. But is entertaining nevertheless.

You can assume that when Warren Ellis says that he verified it with Joss in e-mail, he’s fibbing, if you like, but I don’t, myself. See here, and here, to repeat the links.

Even absent the fact that W. Ellis vouched for the authenticity, incidentally, I’d have claimed in any case that anyone who could fake Joss Whedon’s style so well is essentially being as amusing as the original, anyway. :-) (But, then, I have an inordinate confidence in my ability to read for style. ;-)) (I leave consideration of the implications of the first assertion to those here with the background in philosophy that I lack.)

Am I missing something here? It seemed like a run-of-the-mill “let’s try to outwitticise each other” thread that you can find on several million blogs. Even, meta-speaking, if it was a spoof of such a genre, it wasn’t a very funny one. However, I am speaking as someone who has never got the whole Joss “Do you know what happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning?” Whedon obsession anyway, so feel free to tune me out.
