Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys!

by Maria on October 17, 2005

Well, a fruitless trip into Hodges Figgis in Dublin this weekend yielded nothing more than the news that George R.R. Martin’s next installation to the Ice and Fire series is delayed by several more weeks. Two younger Farrells – Annaick and Eleanor – have been haunting the place asking when A Feast for Crows will finally arrive. Don’t feel too sorry for them, though. When George R.R.R. himself was in town a few months ago, the girls ended up going out for a very pleasant dinner with him and his missus.

Anyway, the email below arrived this morning:

Got my copy from Amazon.co.uk on Saturday. And I’m in NYC.

It’s good, if a seeming departure from the structure of previous novels. But I like it very much so far.

I hate to break the bad news, but it’s the worst book of the series by quite some margin. It’s just not a coherent book like the other three, it’s bitty and fragmented.

Not yet available through Amazon US. I pre-ordered a few weeks ago, and the Feast for Crows page on amazon.com still shows a Nov. 8 shipping date. And different cover art from the UK version.
