I am thinking of a number of conservative finance ministers that auctioned off public holding in the 1980s. Nice that someone still reserves a parking place for the likes of Michael Wilson and Geoffrey Howe and Roger Douglas.
Pawnbroking not being among the more highly esteemed professions, to put it mildly, I cannot understand why one would want to leave his car in that spot. It’s almost an invitation to vandalism.

My favorite ‘No Parking’ sign was at the courthouse in Kalamazoo, Michigan– it read: ‘No Parking: Prosecutors Will Be Violated’.

Did you park there anyway while you ran in to get a bagel?

1) Didn’t Alan Sillitoe write a book mentioning the prosecution of William Posters? *
2) Lion Country Safari sported signs warning “Trespassers will be eaten.”
3) A proposal was floated for a Human Pee-In: “Void where prohibited by law.”
4) The Pentagon is said to have a parking lot named for Oliver North.

Inlet Street, near my house, has a sign on the pole below the street name: “No Outlet.”

tyrone – it wasn’t the bagel place, but Next Day Blinds that we were calling into. But pretty close.
